How to Change Root Password Using Single Command

Step 1: Login to Linux Server using Putty - Follow the Connect to a Linux Server Using PuTTY Blog
Step 2: Change Root Password When You Are Logged In as Root

1. Run the Password Command - passwd

2. Enter New Password

 

  • Type your new root password
  • Re-enter it to confirm

Once completed, the password will be updated immediately.
